Freemont

Resting on a base with five cylindrical legs, Freemont by Ettore Sottsass seems to rise forcefully from the bottom to the top. With its jointed shapes it branches out in space, becoming the visual fulcrum of the room, like a new, modern tree of life. Freemont reminds us of Asia, suggesting a reinterpretation of the architecture of Japanese temples, which Sottsass had seen on one of his many journeys.

Cabinet covered with wood veneer and decorative laminate, gilded gold leaf.
