Agra by Ettore Sottsass is a powerful visual synthesis that manages to mix the classical tradition with oriental stylemes in an erudite way. Agra is enhanced on the armrests by padding covered in printed cotton (the “Zambia” pattern designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier). The choice of the name “Agra” is a clear tribute to India, discovered and much loved by Sottsass in the 1960s.
