Who knows if the form of Santa Ana by Matteo Thun intentionally echoes that of the UFO spotted in 1965 in the Californian city with the same name? A ceiling lamp that utilizes white as its only color to bring out the physical and sculptural force of the ceramic material of the shade that defines the composition, based on the circle and the repetition of the sphere. Thun – the son of ceramists – takes a creative approach to his relationship with this material: he has often stated that he has a preference for craftsmanship, for things “made by hand.”
